Prom Number Two

Prom Number 2.  The graduation celebrations continue…

You have brains in your head.

You have feet in your shoes.

You can steer yourself in any direction you choose.

You’re on your own.

And you know what you know.

You are the guy who’ll decide where to go.

~Dr. Seuss

Happy Birthday Cathy

I received an invitation to a party last week.  It was from my wonderfully talented artist, photographer, writer, author, poet and amazing friend Cathy.

Why was I surprised, when upon arriving at the party, to find that it was not a traditional birthday party?  She had planned an elaborate appreciation celebration for her friends.  It was beautiful.  She had meticulously made up personalized place settings and gift bags for each person.  She had filled the room with women from the many walks of life that she had been friends with over the years (not many years mind you, she is still very much a spring chicken!)  The afternoon was filled with laughter, love, good food and sprinkled with little speeches that touched us all.

I was truly honoured to have been chosen to be there.

Much love,

Wendy

Boutouche Boardwalk

We took a little break from our driving this past weekend, stopping for a walk on the boardwalk in Boutouche.

Snails and Dandylions

Abbie can find a snail anywhere,, in the garden, in the woods, even on the soccer field.   This morning while waiting for the bus, she found one.  She has the talent of being able to keep hold of it, even when blowing dandelion fluff. 🙂

Prom

Daughter number three had been waiting for this day since she first started high school and couldn’t hide her excitement.

She wanted to show her coworkers her gown, so on the way back home, I stopped by a bridge for what I thought would be some “rustic” pictures.  (She was eager to get back home to her friends, so she tried to shock me with some rather uncalled for poses, (which I have also posed below (that’ll teach her..!)).

“Little” brother was also going to the prom and was dressed in his finest, and Abbie, who has a tradition of going to the “ball” each year (yes, since she can remember we have had a child going to a prom each year..!), having a snack there (also a tradition), and a dance or two; joined in the festivities.
