The Swing

Daddy built a new swing for her at the lot this weekend to play on while we are working.  (I think she likes it…)

Port Royal, Fort Anne, and North Hills Museum

This weekend we took the pretty drive to Annapolis Royal.

Abbie loved Port Royal.  They have a “treasure hunt” for the children, and she spent the morning searching for all the hidden clues.

After lunch, we visited Fort Anne.  They have period clothing in the educational exhibit. Abbie spent 1/2 hour pretending she was a in “the olden days”.  Outside the grounds are beautiful as well. (Abbie was getting a bit too adventurous so Daddy gave her a bit of a scare! )

Our final stop of the day was at the North Hills Museum where Robert Patterson, a retired banker, purchased it and filled it with his beautiful collection of antiques.  I loved the upstairs bedroom, nestled under the eves of the house where there is a unique fireplace. If you didn’t know better, you would think you were in a cottage deep in the English Countryside.

The Wildlife Park

A favorite place to go for a walk in the evening, we often visit the Shubenacadie Wildlife Park.  On this particular evening, the peacocks were abundant and the bunny’s were friendly.

Camp White Birch

My favorite place in the world.  Has anyone seen the new commercial for Lotto 649 where it shows a group of men fishing in a river in a beautiful valley.  This place is even better than that.  I love it there. There are no other houses or camps as far as you can see and the only sounds are the birds or the water splashing in the river.  At night the stars seem a 100 times brighter then they do at home.

(It could use a bit of indoor plumbing and electricity though by times.)
