Kaleigh & Tim’s Beautiful Elopement

Love in the time of Covid:

(A small,  intimate, family bubble, socially-distanced elopement.)

Kaleigh and Tim were high school sweethearts and carefully planned their dream wedding for a long time. 2019 was spent planning every detail of their large wedding.

Then came 2020, and with it, a worldwide pandemic which completely changed everything.  They initially postponed their big day to the following year, but after some soul searching, they decided that while the big wedding could wait, the most important thing for them was to finally be married to each other.

“Don’t dress up – save it for next year.  Just come to the park at 4 o’clock and bring a lawn chair.  We are going to elope just up the road from the my grandparents house,” they told their families.

“I know this wasn’t the plan, but would you like me to come and take a few pictures; to remember the day?” I asked.  “We will save most for next year but maybe a few would be nice.” – and I’m so glad I did (while wearing a mask of course!) because it was the most perfect day.

So perfect, that when Kaleigh called me a few weeks later, I wasn’t even surprised when she told me they had cancelled the big wedding next fall.  Their little unplanned elopement had turned out to be their absolutely perfect wedding day.
