Christmas Picture – take 1

I’m so very happy to have my Livi back with us for Christmas.

With her living away, I didn’t think I would be able to get a family (kids) picture this year.  Now that everyone was in the area, I would be able to get one done.

Silly me,,, what was I thinking?  It’s no easy feat trying to arrange the scheduling of 5 people, especially on the weekends when they all work,  to get them together during daylight house for an outdoor family picture.

I thought we had found a day that would work; we had an hour of open time in between Rachel getting off work and David going to work..  It wan’t to be.  One “person” (not to be named) fell asleep, and by the time she was ready, David had left for work.

It’s not often that I get more than 2 of them together (and in the mood to let me  take a picture) so while it wouldn’t be the “official” Christmas Picture, I took advantage of the 5  minutes that they gave  me and snapped a few images.

I took a few of Livi and Abbie while the others were getting ready, and then (after David had left for work) I TRIED (I say TRY in the strongest sense of the word.)  to get the girls to behave long enough for me to get a picture of them together.

Gram’s Cookie Party

My grandmother has a Christmas cookie making party each year at her home in Prince Edward Island.  It started a “few” years ago with her grandchildren, but now includes great grandkids and neighbourhood families as well.  My younger children had went to it years ago, but Abbie had never been.

She was so very excited to stay at (great) grandmother’s house for the night.  I hadn’t realized that each time we visit, we stay at mom’s cottage across the road, and she had never had a “sleep over” at Gram’s.

While there were a lot of missing faces due to the “busyness” of the season and conflicting schedules,  it was so nice to see my aunts, cousins and two of the newest members of the family!

Everyone should be so lucky to have such a Gram as I have!  (And she also makes the best gingerbread cookies in the world!)

P.S.: In case it isn’t obvious, he really didn’t want Aunty to cut his hair… 🙂

Ray

Poor Rachel dropped by the studio to see me this week.  I had been looking for a Model/ Victim to let me try out some different variations of lighting.

She humored me, lovely girl that she is. 🙂

Public Gardens

In the rush of our daily lives, I think we forget just how beautiful our city is.
