The Adventure

After spending the morning in the house, I thought we should go outdoors for a bit.  Abbie decided that she would like to go on an “adventure”.  (translation- a walk in the woods)

She packed a bag to take with her; some books incase she wanted to read, a pen and paper for a map, and a snack just in case we got hungry (She is always hungry.)   Off we went.

She was very excited to “discover” a river. (translation- the brook on the next lane)

She thought we should cross the river, but as there weren’t any bridges (translation- trees that fell across the brook) we couldn’t get across.

The disappointment was soon forgotten when she found a tree to climb.

April 28 – An “Abbie Day” – pm

While she is a dare devil on the ski hill, Abbie was always been scared to skate.  This spring she decided that she was finally ready to let go of the skating trainer that she held on to while she slowly made her way around the rink.  She is so proud of her new skills and I have been taking her to public stakes at our local rink when I have the chance.

Today, we were the only ones on the ice for the first part of the skate and had the entire rink to ourselves.  – We had a ball.

April 28 – An “Abbie Day” – am.

Our home has seemed to be really busy for the past few weeks, so it was really nice to have what we call “An Abbie Day”, which means that we don’t do much of anything, but have lots of time for her to do nothing but play.

Like most children, she so wants to be a big girl and do the things that her big brother and sisters do, and I am dreading the loss of her “little girlhood” ; so I love the fact that when given time to do anything she likes, she will usually be found playing with her baby dolls or little animal critter friends  – not caring  what she is wearing or if her hair has been brushed that day or not!

Spring.

When Warmth returns and Nature slowly opens her eyes to meet him;

Their love is instaneous and contagious.  Colours burst from the depths of the cold damp earth and fill the land with renewed joy.
