Cally

June 20, 2012

“They will not go quietly,
the dogs who’ve shared our lives.
In subtle ways they let us know
their spirit still survives.

Old habits still make us think
we hear a barking at the door.
Or step back when we drop
a tasty morsel on the floor.

Our feet still go around the place
the food dish used to be,
And, sometimes, coming home at night,
we miss them terribly.

And although time may bring new friends
and a new food dish to fill,
That one place in our hearts
belongs to them…and always will.”

We said good bye to a very old dear friend yesterday.

Thanks everyone.
Mich: Cally was both sick and old. The pictures were from last year. I had wanted to take new ons this month, but couldn’t bring myself to take “final pictures” of her…
Abbie didn’t know in advance.

Was Cally sick or just old? The pictures are lovely, as usual… so much love… Were they taken just before she left? Did Abby know?

Field Day

June 19, 2012

Summer’s nearly here and a sure sign of it’s “closeness” is the annual school Field Day.

The children had a so much fun, but their favourite activity was  the huge bubble filled slip’n’slides that they got to play in at end of the day!

(Abbie’s little friend – I’m always in awe of her gorgeous eyes; so beautiful!)

We had a mini-adventure with 2 of our favourite little friends at Lawrencetown Beach Sunday evening.

What fun we had!

Maternity Splendor at the Beach

June 8, 2012

Glamour at the beach!

What a perfect evening for a photo shoot at the beach! Amazingly the weather co-operated perfectly and we were able to take advantage of the many changing moods of light as the sun was setting.   Being photographers (www.pureimagesphoto.com) Tara and Joe were the perfect team.  They knew just what they wanted and by the time Joe and I had set up each shot, Tara was already dressed and into position for the next picture which let us take full advantage of the short window of opportunity that one gets when the setting sun shines most magically.

Perfect weather, a beautiful location and spectacular lighting provided a wonderful backdrop to showcase Tara’s glorious maternity splendour and the love they so obviously have for their growing baby!
