August 13, 2012 – Ottawa House

We came upon Ottawa House Museum quite by accident, having never heard of it before.

By chance we saw a sign along the road while driving through Parrsboro and decided to check it out.

While most museums have the standard rope across doorways to keep people out, there were no such barriers in this grand old house.

Miss A. couldn’t believe her luck and went right to the closet that once belonged to the lady of the house, to investigate what finery she might find there.

On the beach out front, the water was oh so warm and there were great mounds of giant seaweed that occupied her for the rest of our little visit.

August 11, 2012 – Brandi and Joel

We went to my beautiful cousin’s wedding this weekend, where she married her handsome prince charming.

This wedding was breathtakingly perfect, every detail was spectacular.  (Go figure- the bride (The new Mrs. (Brandi) Hudson) is a very talented wedding co-ordinator !)

The photographer, Mr. Len Currie took many pictures during the day, which I have no doubt will be amazing (His pictures always are!).

My camera was put away for most of the day, but I did take a few to have for myself; one of my Aunt, very proudly waiting to take her place before the ceremony, a few quick snaps of my sister’s beautiful family after the ceremony and some of the incredibly decorated reception tent.

My absolute favourite however, is the one of my aunt and uncle which was taken during their speech at the reception.  The love is so very evident on my uncle’s face as he looks proudly at his little girl who is now all grown up.

Wendy, I absolutely LOVE your work! Have you always been a talented photographer or did this just develop out of curiosity and trial/error? I will have to get you to do some family shots some time!

Wondering if you would ever consider doing destination wedding work as I have been working as a Destination Wedding Specialist (own my own travel agency now) and would love to recommend your services!

Congrats on Abby and her first day of school!

Hope all is well with the family! Kelly

Leo at 4 Months

August 5, 2012

My handsome little nephew turned 4 months old recently.

My beautiful sister and I took him to the beach for some outdoor pictures. (Which was so foggy on this particular evening that it felt like it was raining,,,, but that’s a whole other story!)

-When you are too big to lay quietly and too little to sit up, how does one take a picture of you?

They plop you in a bucket (or basket) (of course) and let you chew on your yummy little fists!

— and before I get too many hate letters for endangering the little guy (mom) ,, the images of Leo that look like we set him off to sea by himself are all composites.

His very careful mama would never put her little man in any type of danger and was standing with her hand on the bucket the entire time.

The bucket was on the sand when a wave decided to come in a bit farther than the rest,  it made it look like we had set him adrift!

– Here is one of the images straight from the camera… 🙂

I totally agree. No picture is worth endangering a child-

We had company this evening.

She wanted to be the big girl that she thinks she is and stay up for the duration.

It was a valiant try, but she finally gave in and found a soft place to lay her little head.
