Happy Easter! (Snow, Eggs and a Brand New Baby!)

What a wonderful Easter we’ve had despite the blanket of snow that now covers our yard.

The Easter Bunny brought lost of goodies to our house, but he made an extra special delivery to a pretty blue house in Rhode Island, where he brought a beautiful new baby boy to my little sister and her wonderful husband!

At our house, Abbie didn’t let a cold deter her from the excitement of our Easter egg hunt, and she was very pleased with the new stuffed bunny from Auntie and Uncle.

After dinner with some of our adopted neighbourhood families, the children had a ball searching for eggs that the Easter Bunny hid outdoors, which were now hidden beneath the layer of snow that fell last night!

Daffodils

Spring!!! Hurray for spring!

I didn’t realize how badly I wanted winter to end until I was up at the lot this past weekend and discovered the daffodils that we had planted last fall had popped up.

After what I thought was a futile attempt at planting the bulbs among the trees last fall ( see  October 9, 2011 blog post:  http:  //www.wendymalleyphotography.com/2011/10/09/daffodil-planting/   ),,, I was thrilled to see that nearly all 100 of them had taken hold and were getting ready to bloom.

And as usual, Abbie found a new tree to climb.

March 30

As there was no school today, we took advantage of the day off and went to the playground where we had lots of fun and ate our lunch in the big wooden “castle”!

The MacDonald Family

I am slowly but sure getting caught up on my editing.

These pictures were taken earlier this month.

Miss Leah turned one this month and Mommy wanted some images to document this special milestone.

Daddy works on the other side of the world and his schedule didn’t allow for him to be here for the shoot, but Mom thought it would be a good opportunity to get some images that would showcase  the special bond that is so obvious between these wonderful grandparents and their grandchildren.

How silly of her to forget to ask Miss Leah what she thought about having her picture taken….  The pictures she didn’t so much mind, but she had another opinion about having anyone other than Mommy hold her!

To make matters worse, this afternoon her big brother came home from school with a badly bruised and scratched face as a result of a faceplant on the playground at school which required some creative makeup and a promise of some photo editing on my end.

Mom considered postponing she shoot, but I’m so glad she didn’t!
